- Hello from Studio Sunny
Photo by Linh @happyysoul_ Hello all, and welcome to the launch of the Studio Sunny Website. As a creative, it was so important for me to create a space that truly represents my vision and passion. Between busy schedules and managing my ADHD, things got pushed back and I found myself putting this off more than once. But after much anticipation, we’re finally here, and I’m beyond excited to share my journey and creative process with all of you. Creating this space has been a labor of love, and I’ve poured my heart into making sure the Studio Sunny website reflects who I am as a photographer, set stylist, and creative spirit. It’s been a dream to have this place where my vision can come to life, and I’m so happy that you’re here to experience it with me. Some of you might not know much about me, so I thought I’d use this post to share a little more about myself on a personal level. As I mention in my “About Me” section, I started out as a model and blogger, took a little detour as an athlete before shifting my focus back to photography and set styling. These two passions now define the work I do, and it’s honestly such a joy to create in this space. I really believe that art and creativity are deeply personal. What’s beautiful to one person may not be to someone else, and that’s completely okay. It’s what makes the process of creating and experiencing art so special—everyone has their own unique perspective. This is a theme I carry with me in every project I take on, ensuring that my work resonates with those I collaborate with, while staying true to my artistic vision. Now that you know a little about my journey and creative passions, I thought it would be fun to dive into some of my hobbies. After all, the more you know about me, the more you’ll understand what fuels my creativity and helps bring my work to life. So, here’s a peek into what I love doing in my free time… Pets and Adventures: A Source of Inspiration One of the most significant parts of my life, aside from my work, is my two dogs, who are also the mascots of my home studio! They bring so much joy and inspiration to my everyday life, and I can’t imagine a world without them. Being a pet owner has deeply influenced my approach to creativity—especially in the way I work and how I draw inspiration from the world around me. As a proud animal adoption advocate, taking care of my two rescue dogs is a hobby that brings me peace and fills my heart. Their loyalty, playfulness, and love are what keep me grounded in this ever-changing creative world. In my free time, I take them on new adventures, whether it’s exploring a new part of the city or escaping to the countryside for a little fresh air. It ’s something truly special to watch my dogs enjoy their surroundings, run freely through fields, and bask in the simple joys of life. These moments remind me to stay present and to embrace the beauty in the little things. The freedom they experience is something I try to capture in my photography as well—especially in photoshoots that embrace natural surroundings or outdoor settings. Meet Willow and Mugi: Our Beloved Dogs Mugi & Willow on set of the studio space Now let me introduce you to my two fur babies—Willow and Mugi—who mean the world to me.Willow, our first dog, is around 10 years old now. We adopted her when she was about 5. She’s a Shetland Sheepdog who was once used for breeding in a puppy mill. Despite her difficult past, Willow has flourished into a calm and elegant companion. She exudes quiet luxury and charm, yet she’s not all grace—don’t be fooled, she has the personality of a raccoon! She has a cheeky side and is notorious for secretly ransacking the trash and eating anything she can find. Then there’s Mugi, our second dog. Mugi is the stereotypical second dog—loud, energetic, and always full of surprises. He’s playful, mischievous, and has a flair for drama. One of his favorite things to do is show off his extensive list of tricks, especially to impress any new friends (especially the ladies!). Mugi is a mixed breed that we found in a house full of strays when he was just 6 months old. Now, at almost 5 years old, he’s the life of our home, and he and Willow make the perfect duo, bringing joy and a little bit of chaos to our lives. These two inspire me in more ways than one. They’re a constant reminder of resilience, love, and the simple pleasures in life. They bring joy into our home and studio, and I can’t help but feel they add a special touch to every shoot I do. Whether they’re curling up next to me as I work or greeting clients with their big eyes and wagging tails, they’re always part of the experience. The Joy of Photography and Crocheting Photography has always been my ultimate passion. But now that it’s my career, I make sure to nurture other hobbies to stay connected to my creative self. Whether it’s sports, music, or crocheting, these activities help me keep the creative spark alive and remind me of the joy in simply creating for the sake of creating. One of my biggest passions lately is crocheting. I find so much joy in choosing yarn colors, designing patterns, and making things by hand. Crocheting gives me a creative freedom that allows me to escape into a world of imagination, whether I’m crafting a unique scarf or designing custom clothing. It’s also the perfect mindless activity while I relax watching my favorite TV shows or during my commutes to photo shoots. It’s a therapeutic way to stay creative while still letting my mind wander. Crocheting also connects to my photography in subtle ways. The textures, colors, and shapes I create with yarn inspire my approach to styling and set design. Whether it’s adding a pop of color to a set with custom crochet pieces or simply using it as a design element in my shoots, it has helped shape my aesthetic and approach to creating visual stories. The Cozy Feeling of Home: A Creative Legacy an image I took of my grandmother, with my first camera ever owned. She nurtured my first passion for photography and other creative endeavors As I get older, I find myself increasingly drawn to the cozy, comforting feeling we all experienced growing up in our homes. There’s something about that warmth, nostalgia, and simplicity that calls to me. Reflecting on my hobbies and passions, I realize they align with my photography style in a deeper way. Some of my fondest memories growing up are with my grandmother, who was also an artist and a table stylist. She would create beautiful settings for family gatherings, and I’d watch in awe as she arranged flowers, styled settings, and embroidered delicate pieces by hand. Now, as an adult, I can see how my own passions for styling and capturing beauty are deeply connected to her legacy. It’s as if her creative spirit lives on in me, and I feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the impact she had on shaping my own creative journey. The more I grow, the more I realize how my hobbies and passions align with those of my grandmother—whether it’s styling, art, or the simple joy of creating. It’s not just about photography and set design anymore; it’s about connecting with the past, honoring the people who inspired me, and continuing that creative legacy. By sharing these personal insights, I hope you can see that there’s much more to my work than just the photographs I take. The things I love, whether it’s my pets, hobbies, or cherished memories, shape the way I approach every project and influence the creative energy I put into my work. They fuel me to capture beauty, tell stories, and bring your visions to life through photography and styling. I truly believe that creativity is an ever-evolving journey, and as I continue to grow, I hope to bring more of my personal experiences and passions into my work. Thank you for being a part of this creative journey with me—I’m so excited to meet you all and create magic together.
